How Lie Down and Listen began

Christina noticed that it wasn't only the rituals of classical music concert halls that led to a disconnected listening experience, but in daily life, we are experiencing more disconnection than ever, leading to loneliness, anxiety, stress, sense of emptiness etc.

Lie down & Listen began after a chance meeting with Prof. Sir John Strang and a series of events at Kings College London to recreate the wellbeing benefits of a hallucinogenic experience without hallucinogenics- but simply using a certain combination of music in a lying down concert experience as they did in the 1960’s in downtown New York loft apartments where music of Philip Glass, Terry Riley, Steve Reich - also known as the New York Hypnotic School.

After training in sound healing, Christina then evolved the meditation, sound healing and lying down concert experience of today which creates space for deep relaxation and for listeners to reconnect within

FAQs

What shall I bring?

All mattresses, cushions and blankets are provided, so just bring yourselves and anything else you'd like to ensure your comfort.

What shall I wear?

I recommend wearing something super comfortable and bringing a few layers and even a pair of extra socks. The body temperature can drop when lying down so it's good to be prepared, then you can focus on absorbing the beautiful vibrations.

When shall I arrive?

I recommend arriving 10-15mins prior to the session to allow yourself enough time to get checked in, take your shoes of and settle onto your mattress and the space.

Can I take pictures?

You're very welcome to take pictures before and after the session, but to protect each others privacy, we ask that you ensure phones are off during the session.

I'm pregnant, can I lie on my side?

Of course! This is about your comfort, so however you feel most comfortable is

Do I need to know how to meditate?

No, these sessions are about the sound and music, there will be elements of meditation (focusing) but this will all be guided and supported by the sound and music.
