Lie Down and Listen presents: ‘A Deep Resonance’ at Fitzrovia Chapel

Immerse yourself in the stunning surroundings of Fitzrovia Chapel, a resplendent central London sanctuary for healing, originally created for nurses, doctors, staff and patients at Middlesex Hospital so that they may have a moment of serenity, calm and reflection.
For this special program of Lie Down and Listen, 'Deep Resonance’, you're invited to fully immerse your entire being in the physically sonorous sound of the cello played by Royal Philharmonic lead cellist (and Royal College of Music alumni) Naomi Watts.
While lying down on soft individual mattresses, you’ll allow your gaze to be drawn to ornately gilded ceilings as you experience a soothing, energy shifting repertoire of masterfully executed classics that include the Bach Solo Cello Suites.
This unique combination of sound healing alongside the visually resplendent neo-Gothic architecture of the chapel, complete with intricate mosaics and stained-glass windows, will illicit an inspiring environment of unparalleled awe –evoking that ever more important sense of peace, calm, healing and reflection.
Unrivalled acoustics, stunning architecture and a tranquil atmosphere.
We look forward to welcoming you to ‘Deep Resonance’.

How Lie Down and Listen began
Christina noticed that it wasn't only the rituals of classical music concert halls that led to a disconnected listening experience, but in daily life, we are experiencing more disconnection than ever, leading to loneliness, anxiety, stress, sense of emptiness etc.
Lie down & Listen began after a chance meeting with Prof. Sir John Strang and a series of events at Kings College London to recreate the wellbeing benefits of a hallucinogenic experience without hallucinogenics- but simply using a certain combination of music in a lying down concert experience as they did in the 1960’s in downtown New York loft apartments where music of Philip Glass, Terry Riley, Steve Reich - also known as the New York Hypnotic School.
After training in sound healing, Christina then evolved the meditation, sound healing and lying down concert experience of today which creates space for deep relaxation and for listeners to reconnect within

All mattresses, cushions and blankets are provided, so just bring yourselves and anything else you'd like to ensure your comfort.

I recommend wearing something super comfortable and bringing a few layers and even a pair of extra socks. The body temperature can drop when lying down so it's good to be prepared, then you can focus on absorbing the beautiful vibrations.
